Get ready to mark your calendars and clear your schedules, and come along with me as I go through my exciting to-watch list of movies of March! Let's dive right in.
John Wick: Chapter 4
After 4 years since "John Wick: Chapter 3: Parabellum", the fourth instalment of John Wick franchise is premiering on 24/03/2023!
Ever since John Wick aka The Boogeyman, first lifted a sledgehammer in his basement, to the moment he marginally manages to escape the clasp of the High Table with $14 Million bounty on his back, the franchise has never failed in leaving me wanting to watch more!
The franchise has become iconic with its stylish action sequences, elaborate world-building, and captivating storyline, and this latest instalment is poised to raise the bar even higher. Making it one of the best action movie series ever made!
John Wick: Chapter 4 continues as the protagonist venturing on dangerous quest for redemption and freedom, taking him on a perilous journey to dismantle the High Table, the powerful organization that once ruled over him.
With breath taking choreography and awe-inspiring cinematography, this movie will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Especially with Donnie Yen joining the ranks as Caine - a blind swordsmen coming after John's head.
Whether you're a die-hard fan of the series, like I am, or just love high-octane action, this is one film you can't afford to miss this March.
Everything Everywhere All At Once
PS: Everything Everywhere All At Once was released sometime back in August 2022, and is now back in the big screen for a limited time following Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh's Oscars 2023 win for leading actress
Watching this movie for the first time is just like it's title:
Everything is happening everywhere, ALL AT ONCE!
I went in confused, came out even more confused!
Don't get me wrong though! It is an extraordinary, genre-defying film, EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE kind of movie!
It can be literally blends in any of the famous movie categories ALL AT ONCE - Kung Fu, Action, Psycological, Sci-fi, Magical, Comedy...You name it.
Although it sounds like it could turn into a really bad idea, I ASSURE YOU! IT DID NOT! It turns out superb and had a rare feeling of originality for a movie!
Hailing from the ingenious minds of directors Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan (known for their work on the unique Swiss Army Man), this movie literally takes you on a fantastical journey through alternate realities with a seemingly ordinary protagonist at its core.
Michelle Yeoh stars as a humble housewife, Evelyn Wang, who unexpectedly discovers her ability to access alternate universes. As she traverses the dizzying landscape of the multiverse, she encounters various iterations of herself and faces daunting challenges in each reality.
This mind-bending odyssey forces her to confront the infinite possibilities of her own existence, all while trying to make sense of her newfound abilities. While fighting against Jobu Tupaki - aka omniverse agent of chaos.
This has to be one of the most mind-bending movie since forever! The story somehow reminded me of the game titled "Returnal" which was released for PC in February.
Cocaine Bear
Ever wondered what happens animal gets high on drug?
No? SO DID I!
Based on a jaw-dropping true story, this dark comedy thriller is directed by the talented Elizabeth Banks and produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the masterminds behind The LEGO Movie and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Cocaine Bear follows the bizarre tale of a 175-pound black bear that inadvertently consumes a duffel bag of cocaine dropped from a smuggler's plane. As the bear's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and dangerous, a group of colorful characters must come together to deal with the chaos that ensues.
Featuring a phenomenal ensemble cast, including Keri Russell, Ray Liotta, and O'Shea Jackson Jr., Cocaine Bear promises to be a wild ride that will leave audiences both shocked and amused.
From the absurdity of the premise to the sharp wit and dark humour, Cocaine Bear has all the makings of a cult classic. This is a movie that is sure to generate buzz, and you won't want to miss the opportunity to be part of the conversation when it hits theaters this March.
Fast X
PPS: This is a honourable mention which is set to premiere in May 2023.
Here we go again. First tanks, then submarine, now what?
Rockets? Oh wait....Its already done with....
Anything for the family I guess. I have watched ALL of the FF series and I definitely will watch Fast X when its release despite all the hate.
This time around, the Dom Toretto's family will be facing the wrath of Dante, played by Jason Momoa, whom is apparently has always been a part of the series. As a recap, Dom's family pulled a bank heist in Brazil back in FF5 back in 2011, and Dante was the son of then Brazilian Kingpin, Hernan Reyes, whom was killed during the movie.
Feeling robbed of his own family, Dante is now coming for Dom's family. He has a warning for Dom stating: "You built such a beautiful life, full of love and family." and "I’m going to break yours. Piece by piece." in the trailer.
Well, you can't blame Dante really. Family first right?
Conclusion
So, above is just some of my to-watch list. There are certainly more movies out there which is interesting and fun to watch, so keep your eyes out for those I missed as well!
Just one more mention: The Pope's exorcist.
