A Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaya (PPBM) leader claims to have received a tip about an alleged attempt to transport and hide up to 50 Birkin handbags belonging to Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor in a luxury residence here.

PPBM Youth executive committee member Ben Ali alleged that the luxury handbags, which can fetch up to RM200,000 were being transported to a condominium in Pavilion Residence in a van belonging to the Prime Minister's Department (JPM).

He said a police report was lodged after he received the information.

“We have received information and a video recording of an attempt to transport 50 Birkin handbags using a JPM van to several units of Pavilion Residence KL condominiums,'' Ben posted on his Facebook.

“Each box (containing the handbag) had a tag label with names of the person who gave the handbag (as gift). We believe the receiver is Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor.”

She has been photographed carrying different Birkins in the past which led to raised eyebrows and speculation over the couple's wealth.

Najib and his Barisan Nasional coalition lost in Wednesday's polls, making way for a new federal government that has promised to investigate scandals that took place during the Najib administration.

Pointing to the allegations against Najib and wife, the PPBM youth leader has urged the police to act on the information and raid the premises where the handbags are supposedly hidden.

“Because Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor are dogged by a large-scale financial embezzlement scandal we urge that a raid be conducted at the premises,” he said.

“If it is true that a JPM van was used, then it's abuse of power as Datin Seri Rosmah has used government property for personal use.”

The Youth leader has also urged the Malaysian Anti -Corruption Commission to launch a probe into the allegation.
